I am Gabriel Cervantes! I am a 19 year old full-time student attending City College in New York City. I am studying to be a software engineer and a future millionaire. I am a latino male, with a mother who is Puerto Rican and a father who is Ecuadorian, and a non-Spanish speaker. I am the youngest of 3 children so I am treated like the baby of the family. I’m a very driven person and put my all in everything I do. I have been deeply into sports all my life, first beginning my athletic journey playing Baseball and Softball as a child then switching over to Basketball around age 10, which is now my favorite sport to play and watch. As I used to have dreams of being in the NBA they fell SHORT due to my Ecuadorian genes making me a whopping 5′ foot 4 inches. But do not count me out cause I can still hoop though! Fashion has progressively been growing deep into my life and my wallet. I always have to look good and be put together. I have over 30 pairs of sneakers (some going for over thousands of dollars) and can talk about sneakers all day. I work in a non-profit organization called Hudson Guild as an after-school program youth educator and literacy lead. Working with teenagers and preteens can be very challenging but definitely rewarding when you can make an impact even towards just one student. This job has helped me personally grow in many ways, one being in patience/tolerance. My 24/7 creative mindset allows me to think out of the box and create new opportunities to help my students succeed in their future endeavors in high school.
